First week was a success!

Our first week was a success!

We’ve been very busy our first week of second grade.  We created these “Math About Me” projects, where we learned that numbers are all around us.

We have completed our first writing project called “Who Am I?” where students were able to talk about their favorite books, TV shows, hobbies, what they want to be when they grow up, and more.  They also got to draw a self-portrait.  I love all of those happy faces! :)

We also practiced working with partners.  The students are creating flip-books together.

I’m looking forward to our second week of second grade together! :)

Welcome to 5th Grade

Welcome to Mrs. Decker’s class!!! I am very excited and can’t wait to meet each and every one of you!!! I know we are going to have a phenomenal year!!!

Some things to look forward to this year is, of course, Camp DuBois, Trashformations, and Young Authors! We also will be doing more experiments in Science than in previous years.

We will begin this year in math with place value and move on from there. We will get into multi-digit multiplication and division, fractions, decimals, and some geometry.

Just a reminder that we will be having a picnic on Aug. 21st to observe the eclipse! I hope you will enjoy it with us!

We will have a fabulous year!!!!!
